Are You In?

Locktober is just around the corner. My 5+ year journey in chastity started with Locktober. I had been locked on and off and thought it would be great to participate in the then new “Locktober” sweeping gay Twitter. I figured I’d be locked at least through then end of the month, making it my longest lock to date. Little did I know then that I would never unlock again.

If you’re thinking about participating, I’d like to pass along a little advice. First of all, just participating is enough. You don’t have to go the whole month. You can set your own goals (or hopefully have someone set them for you) and do your best to achieve them, but honestly, just showing up is more than a lot of guys can do, Good for you if you try. Don’t be discouraged if you don’t make it the whole month. Maybe it’s not for you, or maybe it will be the start of something amazing for you. You’ll never know unless you try.

Secondly, get yourself a good, well fitting cage. If you don’t, your experience will be miserable and you will never appreciate the joys of chastity. You don’t need to spend big bucks, but don’t cheap out either. This is your dick we are talking about. There are a number of good devices that are reasonably priced. I’m thinking of the Kink3D and Holy Trainer devices specifically. You’ll also see knock offs that are much, much cheaper, but that would be a huge mistake. Besides the fact that someone is stealing intellectual property and profiteering off another’s work, these devices are cheap for a reason: they’re crap. The real devices are made from body safe materials (nylon, bpa free plastics) and are 3D printed or manufactured to a high standard with excellent fit and finish, Cheap knock offs are usually made of potentially dangerous materials, are injection molded with seams and have sharp edges and poor fits. They can HURT you and they can definitely ruin your experience. If you decide chastity is not for you, there’s a great resale market for quality devices. We’re talking about spending a couple hundred bucks or less. It’s a worthwhile investment. If you find you want to stay locked for longer, a good device will make it possible. You don’t need to spend thousands of dollars (although you can) until you’re sure. Chastity devices have come a long way since I first started playing with them.

Thirdly, if you do run into an issue (it can happen, especially if this is your first lock up), take the device off and call it a day. You’re probably not going to get the sizing right the first time, unless you are lucky enough to attend an event where the manufacturer is there and can measure you up. Even I had to go through a few iterations of ring and gap sizing to get it right in the beginning. Every cage fits differently, so what works for you in one device may not work in another. But I have found that the folks at Kink3D in particular are awesome at helping you out with problems and have all the solutions you need. That’s worth the cost of admission alone. You won’t get that from Temu.

If you’re considering it, I hope you go for it. While I’m essentially permanently locked, I still participate in spirit. Besides, it’s a fun time and it’s great to see so many men exploring the erotic aspects of denial. I will happily give you a participation medal and look forward to seeing some of your social media posts. Happy Locktober to all.

Thanks for discussing locktober and how it differs for each person. There’s a lot of stigma when it comes to not being locked the entire month and it’s frustrating. Have fun with it, don’t put your health at risk is the approach I take.

Seems you have a collection of cages? You mention Kink3D and HolyTrainer, but those are both resin; then, in the above post, you mention titanium. Are your cages different sizes? What designs do you like better? I started with metal cages, but they were difficult to put on, and the rings weren’t comfortable. Then got a plastic cage. Easy to put on, but the almost completely enclosed cage wasn’t easy to clean without removing. Just got a Kink3D. Liked the first (Cobra S), but seemed too big. Downsized to an N. Not only fits better, but my balls don’t slip out (has been a problem – small balls, tight scrotum). Trying to go for permanent, but trial and error – got some great online suggestions for lubing the ring, using anti-bacterial soap, using lidocaine for ring irritation, etc. Thanks for posting. Very helpful.
